Today was a glorious day at work; I got to spend most of my time as a learner instead of a teacher. Our district has dedicated a lot of resources to shifting pedagogy by leveraging digital. We are fortunate to be a Google board which will be 1:1 with Chrome books by September 2019.
Today was the 7 – 12 Connect Conference which featured a Demo Slam and loads of great sessions. I had the rare opportunity to be the learner. Here’s a list of the top four things I learned today:
- Desmos graphing has applications for the English classroom! Students can spend time creating good questions and making comparisons.
- Soundtrap is an easy-to-use tool students can use to make some great sounding podcasts.
- D2L Brightspace is a convenient place for students and teachers to upload evidence of doing / saying / representing. Huzzah for triangulation of data!
- Magic Make Copies and Student Roster are both add-ons which can make life a lot easier for feedback.
